Royal AM dumped Cape Town City out of the Nedbank Cup after they won 4-3 on penalties in a last-32 match played at the Cape Town Stadium on Sunday evening.
This encounter was decided on spot kicks after the two sides played to a goalless draw in two hours of football.
Thwihli Thwahla converted four penalties – Ruzaigh Gamildien, Shaun Mogaila, Samuel Manganyi and Sedwyn George – while the Citizens were successful with the spot kicks of Mduduzi Mdantsane, Lyle Lakay and Bryce Ambina with Lorenzo Gordinho and Khanyisa Mayo failing to convert.
