A date has been set for Landile “Mandown” Ngxeke to redeem himself after he was stopped by Filipino boxer Jayr Raquinel last year.

Ngxeke from Sada faces Filipino opponent Michael Mendoza in a vacant International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Intercontinental junior-bantamweight title fight on Friday, 31 March.

It’s redemption time for Ngxeke after he was stopped in the second round by Raquinel in a vacant World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Intercontinental junior-bantamweight title contest at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) in October last year.

Initially, Ngxeke’s fight against the Filipino boxer was scheduled for this coming Saturday, but got postponed after the current South African junior-bantamweight champion skipped a few training sessions because of an illness.
