It looked like the match was heading for a goalless draw until Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah scored an own goal to give Kaizer Chiefs a 1-0 win over the Buccaneers in a DStv Premiership match at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Saturday afternoon.
Pirates were reduced to 10 men when match referee Abongile Tom red carded their defender and captain Innocent Maela in the 61st minute. Maela was sent for an early shower after he denied Amakhosi striker Christian Saile Basomboli a clear goal scoring opportunity.
And from then, Pirates played deep into their own half waiting for Chiefs to attack them. Bad luck struck when Ndah headed past his goalkeeper Sipho Chaine in the 89th minute.
Ndah had only been on the field for 24 minutes when disaster struck as he had substituted Thembinkosi Lorch in the 65th minute.
