Coach Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahli are on track for promotion to the Saudi Arabian Premier Division after they registered their fourth straight win as they defeated Jeddah Club 1-0 on Wednesday evening.
Modou Barrow, who joined Mosimane’s team in January, scored the all-important goal in the 52nd minute to give Al Ahli the three points at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
They are level on 49 points from 23 matches together with Al Hazem, who are on top of the standings. Al Ahli are 11 points clear within the promotion spots with only 11 games to go.
Meanwhile, the former Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns mentor has won 11 matches, drawn six and lost once since joining the Saudi Arabian club last year.
