Stellenbosch FC moved to seventh place on the DStv Premiership standings after they beat AmaZulu 2-0 in a DStv Premiership match at the Danie Craven Stadium in the Cape Winelands on Friday evening.
A beautiful move by Stellies midfielder Junior Mendieta resulted in Iqraam Rayners scoring his fifth goal of the season in the 18th minute. After taking a first half lead, Stellies pressed very hard in the second stanza and Devin Titus increased their lead in the 71st minute.
Meanwhile, a Pule Mmodi goal helped Lamontville Golden Arrows defeat a struggling Swallows FC 1-0 in another DStv Premiership encounter held at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.
