Orlando Pirates enhanced their chances of playing in the CAF Champions League next season after they beat Chippa United 2-0 in a DStv Premiership match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday evening.
The Buccaneers broke the deadlock through Kabelo Dlamini following a cross from Monnapule Saleng in the 20th minute. Chilli Boys defenders were badly exposed before Pirates scored.
Thembinkosi Lorch made it 2-0 after he put the ball between Chilli Boys goalkeeper Loydt Kazapua’s legs following a pass from Paseka Mako in the 38th minute.
As a result of the win, Pirates have moved back to second place on the Premiership table while things are getting worse for the Chilli Boys, who are 14th on the log.
