Gqeberha-based boxer Sanele Magwaza will get an opportunity to win yet another title when he comes up against Grey Chimkwapulo from Malawi on Sunday, 16 April.

This collision between the two boxers is going to take place at the Wells Estate Multipurpose Centre in Gqeberha. At stake is going to be the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental junior-featherweight title.

This title became vacant after it was relinquished by Thato ‘Captain Chasrisma’ Bonokoane last year. The West Rand boxer vacated the intercontinental crown after he won the WBF junior-featherweight title in Gqeberha last October.

The 27-year-old Magwaza, whose boxing skills are honed by Caiphus Ntante, is a former WBF Africa bantamweight champion.

Meanwhile, Ladysmith-born Bathabile Ziqubu clashes with Zimbabwean Revai Madondo in a vacant WBF Africa female junior-bantamweight title fight.

And Owethu Rula from Gqeberha clashes with Mthatha’s Emihle Ntunja in a vacant Eastern Cape female flyweight contest in this tournament, which is going to be promoted by Mbali Zantsi’s Showtime Boxing Productions.
