Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis is going to bestowed with the Order of Ikhamanga from State President Cyril Ramaphosa on Friday next week.
Cape Town-born Ellis led Banyana to glory when they won the African Women’s Cup of Nations trophy after they beat Morocco 2-1 last year. Banyana have, in the process, qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup finals to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand from 20 July to 20 August.
The 60-year-old award-winning former Banyana captain has won the CAF Women’s Coach of the Year award on three successive occasions.
