Cape Town-based Eastern Cape-born whistleman Abongile Tom has been selected to become one of the match officials at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup finals.
This tournament is going to be hosted by Argentina from 20 May to 11 June and Tom is among 25 referees and 38 assistant referees, who will officiate at the finals.
The 31-year-old Tom, who was born in Tlokoeng (formerly known as Mount Fletcher), has been one of the most consistent referee’s on South Africa.
