Already on 10 goals with two matches before Chippa United wrap up their season, Chilli Boys forward Etiosa Ighodaro wants nothing more than a win as they face TS Galaxy in a vital DStv Premiership encounter away at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday afternoon.
Chilli Boys coach Lehlohonolo Seema will be pinning his hopes of a win on the Nigerian-born forward as they desperately need points to avoid an automatic drop or a play-off spot finish.
“We have a very big chance not to go to the play-offs. We have ourselves to work on. We don’t want to lose the game. It’s either we get maximum points or a draw,” Ighodaro said.
The Chilli Boys need to pick up maximum points in their last two matches if they want to avoid finishing where they are – 15th spot on the Premiership standings. Currently, the Eastern Cape club have 29 points from 28 matches.
Meanwhile, Ighodaro is one of the five players who have scored 10 goals – two less than top goal scorer Peter Shalulile from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ranga Chivaviro (Marumo Gallants), Bradley Grobler (SuperSport United), Khanyisa Mayo (Cape Town City) and Monnapule Saleng (Orlando Pirates) have all scored 10 goals each.
