Limpopo club Polokwane City have returned to the Premier Division after they were confirmed as the Motsepe Foundation Championship winners on Sunday.
Rise n Shine secured their promotion to to the elite league following a 4-0 drubbing of Pretoria Callies at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane in Sunday afternoon.
After playing 30 matches, they finished with the same number of points – 57 – as second placed Cape Town Spurs, who were held to a 1-1 draw by the University of Pretoria at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. However, Rise n Shine’s superior goal difference helped them when it mattered the most.
