Vanquished East London boxer Ayanda Ndulani is going to announce his retirement from professional boxing just after he was stopped in the fourth round by Mexican boxer Luis ‘Fletchita’ Castillo in Mexico on Saturday morning (South African time).

This was a World Boxing Council (WBC) minimumweight elimination bout, which was held at the Flamingo Cancun Resort, Mexico.

Ndulani’s defeat by Castillo was a major loss considering that the Mexican is now going to challenge for the WBC minimumweight title, which is held by Thailand’s Panya Pradabsri who is also known as Petchmanee CP Freshmart.

The former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) minimumweight champion has also revealed that he has informed his trainer Kholisile ‘KC’ Cengani about his decision to quit boxing.

“This was my last fight. I’m going to concentrate on my job now. I have told my manager Ngconde (Cengani’s clan name). Already, I’m on probation and due for promotion at work. I’m working in quality accessory and I had been trained as a warehouse stock controller. This needs my time,” Ndulani revealed.

Cengani said: “Yes, Ndulani has told me he’s considering quitting boxing. Actually, he told me a while ago that he was gonna hang up his gloves one day.”
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old Scenery Park-based Ndulani has registered 13 victories (four knockouts), three defeats and a draw.
