Wydad Athletic Club from Morocco have set up a date with Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the final of the CAF Champions League.
This came after the Moroccans held Mamelodi Sundowns to a 2-2 draw ina semi-final second leg match played at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday afternoon. Wydad advanced to the final because of the away goal rule as they scored twice in Pretoria having played to a goalless draw with the Brazilians in the first leg at home last weekend.
Themba Zwane and Peter Shalulile netted for the Tshwane giants while Ayoub El Amloud’s strike and a Mothobi Mvala own goal were enough to take the Moroccans to the repeat of th 2021/22 edition.
