One of Kaizer Chiefs’ long-serving players and the club’s former captain Eric ‘Tower’ Mathoho has left the Soweto side after 11 years, Amakhosi announced on Thursday afternoon.
Mathoho joined Chiefs from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2012 and made 267 appearances for Amakhosi, scoring 26 goals. Mathoho from Thohoyandou only made one appearance for Amakhosi this past season.
The 33-year-old Mathoho left Amakhosi having won the league title twice (2012/13 and 2014/15 seasons), the MTN8 and the Nedbank Cup.
