It’s all systems go as Siphosethu Mhlalo and Mxolisi Sibiya have made the weight paving the way for their clash in an African Boxing Union (ABU) SADC junior-bantamweight title strap at the Orient Theatre in East London on Friday evening.

Initially, Mhlahlo and Sibiya were scheduled to face off in an eight rounds bout, but things changed after Lebogang Mashitoa, who was going to clash with Luvuyo Sizani in a vacant South African light-heavyweight title fight, pulled out because of an injury.

Interestingly, both Mhlahlo and Sibiya go to Friday’s main bout having won their last two fights. Mhlahlo has registered three victories and two defeats while Sibiya goes into the fight with a professional record of four wins (three stoppages) and two losses.

Meanwhile, Siphesihle Sityo from Duncan Village defends his Eastern Cape mini-flyweight title against Mdantsane’s Qhamani Mhlana in one of the most anticipated fights of the night.
