Banyana Banyana have lined up an international friendly match against Costa Rica just three days before the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament starts in Australia and New Zealand.
This match against the Central Americans is scheduled for Monday, 17 July at the Nga Puna Wai Sport Complex in Christchurch, New Zealand. The World Cup tournament starts on Thursday, 20 July until Sunday, 20 August.
“I am really excited to be playing against Costa Rica. This will be our last match before the World Cup starts,” Banyana coach Desiree Ellis said.
This match forms part of the African chanpions’ preparations for the World Cup tournament where they have been drawn in a group alongside Sweden, Italy and Argentina.
