One of the most colourful players and AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimović has decided to hang up his boots as he announced his retirement from football on Sunday evening. 

Born in Sweden on 3 October 1981, Ibrahimović went on to represent his country at senior level where he scored 62 goals in 122 appearances. Ibrahimović retired having played 941 matches and netted 554 times winning 32 trophies. 

“I’m a free man from tomorrow. A new chapter in my life opens from tomorrow, I am proud to have such a long career. When I woke up this morning, it was raining. I said to myself that even God was sad,” Ibrahimović said. 

LA Galaxy, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus and Ajax Amsterdam are some of the big teams Ibrahimović played for in a career, which spanned more than two decades.
