Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has promised to give Morocco a run for their money when they play against his team in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Saturday (17h00).

This is a dead rubber as both Bafana and the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalists have already qualified for next year’s AFCON tournament, which is going to be hosted by Ivory Coast between January and February.

“We are playing against a very good opponent. I think for the moment Morocco is the best team in Africa. They showed it already eight months ago by ending fourth in the world championship. So that means they have much quality,” Broos remarked.

“If you see how the team is composed, players who play for big teams in Europe. I’m very happy with my team. My team is ready to play a good game. I think the guys are ready, they are motivated, I feel that.”

Meanwhile, after helping his team Al Ahly lift the CAF Champions League trophy when they beat Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club 3-2 on aggregate last Sunday evening, Percy Tau has acknowledged that Bafana have a big game in their hands.

“I think we’ve got a big game that we are looking forward to play. Of course, we know how they play. I think it’s gonna be an interesting game. It wi also be a good test for us to test ourselves against them,” the 29-year-old Emalahleni-born Tau said.
