Bafana Bafana came good as they defeated highly-ranked Morocco 2-1 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in front of 57 548 people at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Saturday evening.

With both teams having ready qualified for the AFCON finals before stepping onto the pitch, Bafana opened the scoring in the fifth minute through Atlas Lions goalkeeper Munir El Kajoui’s own goal.

Three minutes into the second half, SuperSport United forward Zakhele Lepasa brought joy to Bafana fans when he doubled the South African national team’s lead. The 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalists reduced the deficit through Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech on the hour mark.
