A blunder which resulted in Bathusi Aubaas being listed as an Orlando Pirates player in the Bafana Bafana team sheet during their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Morocco has left his employer and TS Galaxy president Tim Sukazi fuming with anger.
Bafana defeated the Atlas Lions 2-1 to go top of Group K at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg. Both Bafana and Morocco went into the match having already qualified for the AFCON tournament, which is going to be played in Ivory Coast between January and February next year.
Writing on Instagram, Sukazi said: “SAFA, Bafana Bafana and whoever else is responsible for this nonsense, your are just reducing yourself to some serious embarrassment! Since when@TSGALAXY player Bathusi Aubaas become @ORLANDOPIRATES player?? You owe both clubs and the nation an apology.”
The 28-year-old Aubaas put up a great performance against the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalists and it was even difficult to think that he was only making his national team debut.
