Another big chance has presented itself to South African boxer and former national junior-bantamweight champion Sabelo Ngebiyana.
Following the cancellation of his rematch against Tanzanian Tony Rashid, Ngebiyana is now set to face off with unbeaten Mexican boxer Alan David Picasso Romero in Mexico City, Mexico, on Saturday, 15 July.
“My rematch against Rashid was postponed and I then got this fight, which is a 10 rounds bout in Mexico,” Komani-born Ngebiyana said.
The 22-year-old Romero from Mexico City is a dangerous opponent, who has registered seven stoppages in his last 10 fights. Rated number three by the World Boxing Council (WBC) in the junior-featherweight division, Romero has stopped 13 of his 24 victims with his other fight ending in a draw.
