Departed Eastern Cape boxing promoter Tando Zonke, who passed away on Tuesday last week aged 48, is going to be laid to rest at the Quigney cemetery following a funeral service at the Abbotsford Christian Centre this coming Saturday.
Zonke, a staunch Mamelodi Sundowns supporter, traded under the TZ Promotions banner. He succumbed to death following heart and diabetes complications.
Zonke had his last tournament at the Thobi Kula Indoor Sport Centre in Komani in February this year and he was the chairperson of the Eastern Cape Boxing Promoters Association (ECBPA) at the time of his death.
Meanwhile, Zonke’s memorial service is scheduled to be held at the East London City Hall this coming Thursday, starting at 16h00.
