Orlando Pirates proved too good as they came from behind to defeat Independente del Valle from Ecuador 3-1 in a friendly match at the Marbella Football Centre in Spain on Saturday evening.
The South Americans went ahead when Michael Hoyos beat Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori to give them the lead in the 23rd minute.
The Buccaneers equalised through Marou Souaibo, who received a through pass from Deon Hotto in the 50th minute.
Nine minutes later, the Soweto giants took the lead for the first time with Patrick Maswanganyi’s goal and Fortune Makaringe made it 3-1 in the 64th minute.
