Just over a week after losing to Ernesto de Jesus Mercado in Nicaragua, Xolisani ‘Nomeva’ Ndongeni has signed up to face off against American boxer Ladarius ‘Memphis’ Miller in the Bahamas in October.
Ndongeni and Miller, a southpaw who is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the United States, were initially scheduled to clash at the Thomas A Robinson Stadium in Nassat, Bahamas, in May, but the fight was called off at the eleventh hour.
Thomas A Robinson Stadium is a multi-purpose venue and the largest in the Bahamas. It is a 15 023-seater venue, which could be expanded to accommodate 23 000 people.
“I’m going to fight against Ladarius in the Bahamas on the seventh of October. This is the same guy I was due to have fought in May,” Ndongeni confirmed.
KwaBhaca-born Ndongeni put up a brave performance against knockout specialist Mercado and lost on points two weekends ago. The former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) lightweight titlist was on a five-fight winning streak before it got snapped by Mercado at Puerto Salvador Allende, Managua.
Meanwhile, Memphis-born Miller has not fought since he lost to his compatriot Michel Rivera in a vacant IBF USBA lightweight clash in October 2020.
