Stellenbosch FC defender Olwethu Makhanya has left the Cape Winelands club to join Major League Soccer (MLS) side Philadelphia Union.
The 19-year-old Makhanya from KwaMakhutha has committed himself to the MLS side until 2025 with an option until 2027.
Makhanya has become the third African player at Philadelphia Union Richard Obada from Kenya and Cameroonian defender Olivier Mbaizo
