It’s going to be a battle between two unbeaten boxers when Luvuyo Sizani from Ilinge, Komani, squares up against New Zealander Jerome Pampellone in New Zealand next month.
Sizani and Pampellone are scheduled to face off in the same fight card where Gqeberha boxer Razell Mohamed will challenge International Boxing Federation (IBF) female heavyweight champion Te Arani Moarana ‘Lani’ Daniels in the main bout.
The 30-year-old Sizani’s fight against Pampellone, who was born in London in the United Kingdom and raised in New Zealand, is a vacant IBF Intercontinental light-heavyweight title contest and is going to be held at the Eventfinda Stadium in Auckland on Saturday, 26 August.
Pampellone, the current IBF Australasian and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Asia-Pacific light-heavyweight champion, has won all his 16 fights with nine of them via the short distance. The 27-year-old Pampellone is rated seventh by the IBF and 12th by the WBO.
The 30-year-old Sizani, who has seven wins with three knockouts, defeated Rowan Campbell in September last year. Sizani is the current African Boxing Union (ABU) light-heavyweight champion.
