Portugal earned three points after they beat Vietnam 2-0 in a 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup encounter at the Waikato Stadium, Hamilton, on Thursday.

The Portuguese shot to the lead through Telma Encarnacao’s goal in the seventh minute and Kika Nazareth doubled their lead 14 minutes later. 

This was the Portuguese’s first win in this tournament after they were beaten 1-0 by the Netherlands in their opener. 

Meanwhile, it’s the end of the road for the Vietnamese as they have lost both their matches. They were clobbered 3-0 by the United States in their opening match of the tournament.
