France picked up three points after they defeated Brazil in a 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Group F clash in Brisbane, Australia, on Saturday.
France led 1-0 at half-time after Eugenie le Sommer had put them ahead following a Sakina Karchaoui pass from a move, which was started by Kadidiatou Diani on the left in the 17th minute.
The Brazilians surged forward in search of an equaliser and they duly equalised through Debinha de Oliveira off Nicoli Kerolin pass two minutes before the hour mark.
Wendie Renard restored France’s lead after she scored following a corner kick by Selma Bacha seven minutes from full-time.
