Kholosa Ndobayini, who was a victim of unacceptable high crime levels in South Africa, has been discharged from the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Diepkloof, Soweto.
The former South African female lightweight champion spent almost a month in hospital after she was mugged by thugs while she was returning home from training.
Ndobayini, who stays in Zola, Soweto, said: “I was discharged from hospital on Tuesday. The doctors have advised me to take it easy. I will only be able to return to the gym in January next year.”
The mugging robbed Ndobayini of an opportunity to fight against Raider Muleba in a bid to reclaim the SA female lightweight title she controversially lost to Muleba at the Nkowankowa Sports Centre, Tzaneen, in November last year.
“I had been offered a fight against Raider before I got mugged,” Qumbu-born Ndobayini said.
