Landile ‘Man Down’ Ngxeke is on a mission and has predicted that Sunday’s fight against Argentine boxer Luciano Francisco Baldor won’t go the distance.
Ngxeke from Sada in the Eastern Cape’s Chris Hani District faces Baldor in a vacant World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Global bantamweight title contest over 10 rounds at the Orlando Community Hall in Soweto.
“I saw that he’s ready for this fight. He’s not going to finish it, that’s how I see things. I’m fit and ready for him,” Ngxeke, who’s rated 13th by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and 15th by the WBO in the junior-bantamweight division, said.
Meanwhile, Ngxeke has revealed that he’s not ready to relinquish his South African junior-bantamweight title yet and will sit down with his team to map a way forward after his fight against the Argentine.
“I would love to defend my South African title. And then sit down with my camp after that. My main aim is to fight for the world title,” Ngxeke said.
Ngxeke has chalked up 10 victories (four stoppages), a loss an a draw while the 29-year-old Baldor goes to Sunday’s fight with a record of 18 wins (one knockout) and three losses.
