Zolisa Batyi retained his South African featherweight title after he drew with Abdul-Azziz Kunert at the Bellville campus of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in Cape Town on Friday evening.
Judges Clifford Mbelu and Elroy Marshall’s score cards read 114-114 while Sipho Ndongeni had Kunert winning by 115-114.
This was Batyi’s first defenceof the title since he dethroned Jeff Magagane at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Seshego, Polokwane, in December last year.
