It was a bad day at the office for South African boxers Razell Mohamed and Luvuyo Sizani, who are both from the Eastern Cape, as they were stopped in their respective fights against Kiwi opponents at the Eventfinda Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand, on Saturday.
Mohamed suffered a fourth round technical knockout loss to International Boxing Federation (IBF) female heavyweight champion Lani Daniels.
This was the first loss for Mohamed, who works as a teacher at Ankervas Primary School in Rocklands, Kariega, in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.
On the other hand, Sizani also lost for the first time in his career when he was stopped in the first round by unbeaten New Zealander Jerome Pampellone in an IBF Intercontinental light-heavyweight title contest.
Meanwhile, Malawian boxer Ellen Simwaka also lost her fight when she was outpointed by New Zealander Mea Motu in an International Boxing Organisation (IBO) female junior-featherweight title fight.
