Champion boxer Zolisa Batyi is unhappy despite retaining his South African featherweight title following a draw with Abdul-Azziz Kunert at the Bellville campus of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in Cape Town on Friday evening.
Judges Clifford Mbelu and Elroy Marshall’s score cards read 114-114 while the third judge Sipho Ndongeni had Kunert winning by 115-114.
“I am not happy at all because I’m the champion and it looked more like I was the one looking for the title. I won the fight,” Nxarhuni-born Batyi said
This was Batyi’s first defence since he won the title after he dethroned Jeff Magagane at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Seshego, Polokwane, in December last year.
