Ricardo Malajika won the vacant International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-bantamweight title after he defeated Argentine boxer Kevin Louis Munoz on points at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, on Saturday evening.
After 12 rounds of action, all the three judges nodded in agreement with their scorecards reading 118-110, 117-111 and 120-108 saying that Malajika had done enough to be crowned the new champion.
Meanwhile, Roarke Knapp beat Przemyslaw Zysk from Poland in the main bout of the evening.
Fight referee Thabo Spampool stopped stopped the international junior-middleweight proceedings in the fifth round after Knapp had Zysk where he wanted him to be.
