It’s going to be a battle of champions when South African boxer Siyakholwa Kuse exchanges blows with unbeaten Jonas Erastus from Namibia next month.
Kuse is in buoyant mood after he reclaimed his South African minimumweight title defeating Bangile Nyangani on points in a rematch at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) just over two months ago.
Trained by former SA flyweight champion Makazole Tete at the All Winners Boxing Club in Mdantsane, Kuse put up a polished performance against Nyangani avenging the July 2021 loss to the Mthatha boxer.
The win over Nyangani brought massive gains to Kuse as he forced his way into the World Boxing Council (WBC) top 15 ratings. Currently, the WBC rates the Mdantsane lad in 12th spot.
On the other hand, Erastus outpointed his compatriot Luben Kandimba in his first defence of the Namibian flyweight title at the Roman Catholic Hall in Windhoek, Namibia, five months ago. This was a rematch of their May 2022 clash, which Erastus had won.
Kuse has registered five wins, two defeats and one draw while Erastus boasts a record of seven victories with two stoppages.
