Following her failure to win the South African female lightweight title in her first attempt two years ago, Bonita van Jaarsveldt will try again as she challenges champion Raider Muleba.
Van Jaarsveldt, who lost to former champion Kholosa Ndobayini at the Meropa Sun in Polokwane in September 2021, fights against Muleba at a TLB Boxing Promotions tournament at Vodaworld in Midrand on Saturday, 30 September.
“Yes, this is the second time I challenge for the same title. This fight has been postponed so many times this year already. I think I’m more than ready to put my heart in the ring,” Van Jaarsveldt remarked.
This is the fourth clash between Van Jaarsveldt and Muleba with each having won once and the other fight being a draw.
“I have fought her three times before. I think I need to show good boxing from round one to 10. I have to give it my all,” the 32-year-old Van Jaarsveldt said.
Meanwhile, former SA and World Boxing Federation (WBF) female bantamweight champion Bukiwe Nonina is going to square up against Kenyan boxer Consolata Musanga in a 10 rounds international bout.
