KwaZulu-Natal boxer Khanyisani Mbokazi is threatening to end Lucky Monyebane’s five-fight winning streak when they face off on Saturday next week.
Mbokazi and Monyebane clash in an African Boxing Union (ABU) SADC junior-lightweight title contest at a TLB Boxing Promotions tournament at Vodaworld in Midrand.
“I don’t know much about him except that I only watched him once before. I have noticed that he’s done well in his last five fights. I will have to stop that. I believe I’m going to win this fight, especially if I put him under pressure,” Mbokazi said.
The 25-year-old Mandeni-born Mbokazi, who is now based in Durban, beat Sandile Dumisa in February this year while Monyebane defeated Thembani Hobyani three months ago.
Monyebane has beaten Sifiso Hlongwane, Romeo Makwakwa twice, Koos Sibiya and Hobyani. On the other hand, Mbokazi has won three times and lost twice in his last five fights.
Mbokazi will go to battle with a professional record of four wins, four defeats and a draw while Monyebane has won 10 fights (four stoppages) and lost three times.
