There’s nothing that Zimbabwean boxer Monica ‘Savage’ Mkandla wants more than making sure that Melissa Miller does not blemish her perfect fight record.
Unbeaten Mkandla from Matebeleland South challenges African Boxing Union (ABU) female bantamweight champion Miller at Vodaworld in Midrand on Saturday next week.
Having won all her five fights with four of those victories coming from bouts held here in South Africa, Mkandla wants to have the ABU belt strapped around her waist.
“My preparations are going very well. I’ve got quite a good team. We are training very hard for this fight. I’m ready for her,” the 23-year-old Mkandla remarked.
With Miller’s professional record standing at seven victories, 12 defeats and four draws, Mkandla has insisted that the lass from Eldorado Park doesn’t scare her.
“I’m not scared of her despite her experience. She’s the one who should be afraid of me because she has a lot to lose. Yes, she’s experienced, but only has seven wins and I have five. I really doubt she will beat me,” Mkandla said.
