The United States women’s national team proved too good for Banyana Banyana as they defeated the South Africans 3-0 in an international friendly match at the TQL Stadium, Cincinnati, Ohio in the US on Friday morning (South African time).
It looked like Banyana were going to hold their own against the Americans until they cracked after half hour mark.
The Americans scored two quick goals in a space of two minutes. Lynn Williams gave the Americans the lead in the 32nd minute and Trinity Rodman made it 2-0 two minutes later.
The 30-year-old Williams completed her brace four minutes before the half-time break.
Meanwhile, the two teams meet again in another international friendly match at Soldier Field, Chicago, at 23h30 on Sunday.
