Female ring officials who found themselves with no rooms to sleep in after working at the Mama Rocks Boxing Promotions tournament in Polokwane last month are yet to get an apology from the show organisers.
Five tired female ring officials from Gauteng, Free State and the Eastern Cape slept at the foyer at Meropa Casino and Hotel in Polokwane after they officiated and ensured that the Rise of Women in Boxing tournament was a huge success.
After the ordeal, the ring officials thought Mama Rocks Boxing Promotions boss Modipadi Kgasago would at least apologise to them for what happened. However, the ring officials have so far been disappointed because Kgasago has not offered any apology.
Speaking on behalf of the aggrieved officials, an official who asked for her name not to be revealed, said: “She has not apologised yet even though we wrote an email to BSA complaining about the treatment we received in Polokwane. Only acting BSA CEO Erick Sithole has apologised to us.”
Contacted for comment, Kgasago said: “I’m not in a position to talk about the matter.”
