Gift Bolo is not worried following the postponement of his fight against Sibusiso Zingange, which was set to be held in Bloemfontein on Friday next week.
This shootout was going to give Zingange, a former South African junior-lightweight champion, an opportunity to fight for the first time in the junior-welterweight division after he moved up two divisions recently.
“I spoke to my coach and he confirmed that the fight has been postponed. I will keep myself busy in the gym as the promoter has asked us to continue training,” Bolo said.
Bolo, who was going to be a third straight Eastern Cape-born opponent for Zingange, has revealed that he was ready to face the Benoni-based former champion.
“I was looking forward to fighting against a best boxer in Sibusiso Zingange. I still believe that this fight is going to happen before the end of the year,” Mncotsho-born Bolo remarked.
Zingange’s last two fights, which were losses, were against Eastern Cape-born boxers Lunga Sitemela in May last year and Asanda Gingqi in March. The two fights ended prematurely due to injuries to Zingange.
