Matshidiso ‘Scorpion Queen’ Mokatsane promises not to make things easy for her opponent Monalisa Takane whom she meets at The Ridge Casino in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, on Sunday afternoon.

The two lasses will be fighting against each other for the second time in 12 months as Mokatsane is looking at successfully defending her South African female junior-featherweight title once again.

Mokatsane and Takane from Kirkwood in the Eastern Cape drew when they fought  at the Feathermarket Theatre in Gqeberha in October last year.

“I have heard that she’s dreaming about taking my title away from me. That’s not going to happen,” Kroonstad-born Mokatsane said.

The 34-year-old Mokatsane still believes that she did enough to win last year’s fight and that the bout’s outcome was just a home town decision. Stephen Simon had scored the fight 97-91, Nkosinathi Zamela 93-96 and Vuyokazi Ncata’s score card read 94-94.

“Forget about the score cards, I won last year’s fight. I’m going to fight hard and will make sure that she doesn’t get it easy this time around because I want to avoid what happened last year,” Mokatsane remarked.
