Orlando Pirates saw off struggling Cape Town Spurs defeating them 2-0 in a Carling Knockout match at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Friday evening.
After a goalless first half, the Buccaneers changed gears in the second stanza and scored two goals, which resulted in them advancing to the quarter-finals of the competition.
Pirates’ first goal was scored by their defender Tapelo Xoki from the penalty spot on the hour mark. Fivw minutes later, Kermit Erasmus made it 2-0.
