Enathi Stelle’s manager Andile Mshumpela has revealed that the Eastern Cape champion has signed a challenge form and sent it to Boxing South Africa (BSA) with a view of challenging for the vacant South African junior-bantamweight title.
The SA title became vacant after former champion Landile ‘Man Down’ Ngxeke moved up to the bantamweight division earlier this month.
Stelle from Mdantsane is likely to face off against Phumelela Cafu from Duncan Village. Cafu is rated number one while Stelle is below him in the controversial October ratings, which were compiled by ratings committee chairperson Willie Saayman, Khulile Radu and Mesuli Zifo.
“We submitted the challenge form to Boxing South Africa for Stelle to fight for the vacant SA junior-bantamweight title. We will fight with whoever is approved to face us,” Mshumpela of Mshu One Boxing Management Team said.
The 24-year-old Stelle, who has six wins and four losses, is trained by former SA junior-featherweight and featherweight champion Macbute Sinyabi and Luvuyo Tyamzashe.
