Banyana Banyana held the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to a 1-1 draw in a CAF Women’s Olympic qualifier at Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa, DRC, on Wednesday.
The Congolese led 1-0 at half-time through Grace Mfwamba’s goal five minutes before the break.
Banyana quickly got into the groove early in the second half and their efforts were rewarded when Thembi Kgatlana equalised in the 48th minute.
Meanwhile, the second leg is scheduled to be played at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Monday next week.
