Boxing5 director Larry Wainstein has revealed that they are already planning their next tournament after being licensed by Boxing South Africa (BSA).
Wainstein’s promotional outfit had been unable to apply to BSA for the approval of its tournaments because of being unlicensed and they had to use other means to stage shows. This followed after Wainstein didn’t attend the first phase of the BSA assessment and training course.
However, Wainstein and others were able to attend the second phase of the assessment and training course where they also wrote an examination.
“We got our licence on Thursday night. It was a nightmare not to have our licence. We are now preparing for our next tournament, which is going to be on the ninth of December,” Wainstein said.
“Hopefully, there’s gonna be a new board in place. New people who want to make boxing great again, not people who want to put money into their pockets.”
Ink Sport can also confirm that Mdantsane boxing trainer Zolile ‘Gqo’ Mahambi as well as Gqeberha-based promoter Boniswa Lamani are among those who received their licences from BSA.
