Even though he didn’t make it to the OR Tambo International Airport to see off Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga as he left for Monaco on Monday, acting Boxing South Africa (BSA) chief executive officer Erick Nsikayezwe Sithole has wished the reigning world champion all the best ahead of his fight against Adrian Curiel Dominguez.
Nontshinga is going to put his International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight title on the line when he trades blows with Dominguez at the Casino de Monte Carlo in Monaco this coming Saturday.
“He’s our undisputed champion. He must come back home with his belt. We are positive that he’s going to win. As the CEO, I wish him all the luck during his fight. We are with him,” Sithole said.
The 24-year-old Nontshinga travelled to Monaco together with his trainer Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan, his father Thembani Gopheni, Pailman and his manager Siya Zingelwa.
Meanwhile, the unbeaten Nontshinga made a first successful defence of his title when he defeated Regie ‘Filipino Phenom’ Suganob from the Philippines by a unanimous decision at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) four months ago.
