After a slow start to the 2023/24 season, Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo is finally on fire and banging in goals.
The 25-year-old Mayo has scored six times in the Citizens’ last six matches. He’s now the joint top goalscorer with Moroka Swallows’ Tshegofatso Mabasa, who is also on six goals.
Mayo found the back of the net in matches against AmaZulu, Cape Town Spurs (twice), Kaizer Chiefs, Richards Bay FC and Chippa United.
Mthatha-born Mayo only failed to score in only one match in the last six games and that was when the Citizens played against TS Galaxy.
