The venue for the South African junior-welterweight title contest between reigning champion Prince Dlomo and Ntethelelo Nkosi has been confirmed.

The 34-year-old Dlomo’s fight against Nkosi is going to be held at The Globe Suncoast Casino, Durban, on Friday, 24 November. Pietermaritzburg-born Dlomo is just one victory away from outright ownership of the SA junior-welterweight belt.

After dethroning Xolani Mcotheli in March 2021, Dlomo defied all odds and successfully defended his national title four times. He made successful title defences against Siseko Makeleni, Mcotheli, Xolani Mgidi and Marcus Lebogo.

Interestingly, Dlomo has enjoyed a very good run against his compatriots as he has not lost to a South African boxer since he was defeated by former SA lightweight champion Thompson Mokwana at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Seshego, Polokwane, in October 2017.

Dlomo, who defeated Lebogo at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall four months ago, has won 17 times, lost 12 fights and drawn one while the 26-year-old Nkosi from Mtubatuba has won five and lost twice.

Meanwhile, SA female bantamweight titlist Thema Zuma is set to defend her title against Eastern Cape champion Babalwa Nonqonqotho in the main supporting bout.
