Mamelodi Sundowns mentor Rulani Mokwena was announced as the winner of the August DStv Premiership Coach of the Month on Tuesday afternoon.

On other hand, Sundowns’ Brazilian-born star Lucas Ribeiro Costa walked away with the August DStv Premiership Player of the Month award. 

The 36-year-old Mokwena led the Tshwane giants to five wins. He beat fierce competition from SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt while Ribeiro, who scored four goals in six matches, won the award ahead of his Sundowns teammate Ronwen Williams and Zakhele Lepasa from Orlando Pirates. 

Meanwhile, after leading Lamontville Golden Arrows to three wins and a draw, Abafana Bes’thende mentor Mabhuti Khenyeza was the winner of the September/October Coach of the Month award beating Hunt and Cape Town City’s Eric Tinkler. 

Matsatsantsa a Pitori forward Bradley Grobler walked away with the September/October Played of the Month award.
